About the Journal

Annotationes zoologicae et botanicae is published by the Slovak National Museum since 1964. The journal publishes original research in taxonomy and systematics, phylogeny and evolution, development and bionomy, and biodiversity in all groups of eucaryotic organisms. The emphasis is placed on the visualisation of the characters and data presented in the papers through high quality photographs and illustrations. The journal provides a visualisation system that enables readers to view the published photographs in the original size and resolution by clicking on the link in the text.

The journal is open-access and publishes free of charges. It has one issue per year printed in limited number of copies sent to international libraries. The articles are published online immediately after the review process is completed. A printed copy of any article or entire issue may be made on request for at printing and delivery costs.
